Research Interests

My broad research interest is 3D reconstruction. A particular focus is robust application on arbitrary real-world data. To this end, I am interested in:

• multi-view and single-view depth and point map estimation,
• novel view synthesis (NeRFs, 3DGS),
• generative models for learning scene priors,
• semantic 3D scene understanding.

Currently I am interested in learning algorithms that by themselves learn compact, composable, abstract representations (to this end, I recently worked on 3D object-centric learning), and in giving learned systems a measure of "surprise", which can for example be used to modulate the learning process.

The robustmvd framework

I develop and maintain the Robust Multi-view Depth (robustmvd) benchmark and framework. It allows the use and evaluation of recent depth estimation models with a common interface.
