Cognitive Technical Systems

The Computer Science Department offers a teaching focus on cognitive technical systems to its Bachelor and Master students. Research on cognitive technical systems aims for machines that can autonomously perceive their environment and act accordingly, just like their biological counterparts. It includes fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and simulation. Freiburg covers almost all of these research areas and therefore stands out among Germany's universities.
